Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this paycheck calculator?

It uses 2026 federal and state tax rates and is usually within a few dollars of a typical paycheck. Differences come from employer withholding tables, W-4 settings, benefits and local taxes.

Why is my first paycheck of the year different?

Social Security stops once you reach the $184,500 wage base, and some benefits deductions change with the plan year.
